The national and state parks around Kanab, Utah is the largest concentration of national and state parks in the United States. North of Kanab is both Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. South of Kanab is Grand Canyon National Park and Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. On the west side of Kanab is Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and east of Kanab is the Grand Staircase National Monument. It is an amazing place for families to enjoy a relaxing vacation and explore some of the most beautiful places in southern Utah and northern Arizona. Here are some of the favorite activities that families love to do on family vacation around the amazing Kanab area.

Zion National Park is one of the most famous national parks in the world for good reason. It is a spectacular canyon full of amazing red rock slot canyons and breathtaking views. Families can drive through the canyon and enjoy a day seeing the beauty of this national park and have a picnic lunch among some of the most spectacular red rock canyons in the world. Families that are up for some adventure can hike one of the world-famous hikes such as Angel’s Landing, The Subway, or The Emerald Pools.

Bryce Canyon National Park is another well-known national park near Kanab. Families can spend a day driving along the rim of the park and overlooking the spectacular red rock formations. Families will enjoy seeing this amazing national park and having a great day enjoying the scenery while having lunch at one of the picnic areas. Families that are up for a hike can hike down among the awesome rock formations on the Fairyland Loop Trail, Queen’s Garden Trail, or Navajo Loop Trail.

South of Kanab is the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. This is an amazing view of the spectacular Grand Canyon. Families will always remember seeing the magnificent Grand Canyon and the view from the North Rim is one of the most spectacular views anywhere. For those families that are up for an adventure the North Rim of the Grand Canyon has some amazing hikes such as: Bright Angel Point Trail, Cape Royal Trail, and Point Imperial Trail.

Families will also find amazing scenery and solitude if they spend a day exploring Vermillion Cliff National Monument or Grand Staircase National Monument. These are both a short drive from Kanab and are great for families that like to get off the beaten trail and ride ATVs and OHVs.
