Here are a few ideas of areas that we recommend exploring the next time you come to Kanab.
Just north of Kanab is Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. These two spectacular national parks have some of the most beautiful red rock formations that you will ever see anywhere in the world. They have become famous all over the world for the red rock formations and amazing scenery. Spend a couple of days exploring these two world-famous national parks while staying in Kanab.
The north rim of the Grand Canyon is just over an hour drive south of Kanab. The Grand Canyon is one of the largest canyons in the world and the views from the north rim are amazing. As you enter the park you have the opportunity of seeing buffalo and other wildlife, which is fun for families. Families with small children can park at the overlooks and see spectacular views of the canyon and take short walks along the canyon rim. Families with older children can hike down into the canyon and enjoy the canyon from the rim as well as the canyon bottom.
Buckskin Gulch and Paria Canyon are some of the most spectacular narrow canyons in the world. Anyone that loves narrow canyons will love hiking and exploring in these amazing canyons. You can access these slot canyons by driving south of Kanab about 45 minutes and spending a morning or a full day walking in these gorgeous narrow canyons with massive red rock walls.
Toadstools is a great area just off the highway about 40 minutes south of Kanab for children and families to hike and play among the small rock formations. It is perfect for families with small children. It is easy to access, and the small rock formations are fun for children to play on.
Grand Plateau Resort has great accommodations for RVs, small groups, and large groups and is located just south of Kanab a couple miles.
