Families will love to spend time exploring the national parks surrounding Kanab during the spring months when the weather is mild and the crowds are small. Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park are both a short drive up the road from Kanab and are both great national parks to explore in the spring months with your family. The Grand Canyon is about an hour drive south of Kanab and is one of the most spectacular canyons in the United States for families to visit and explore in the spring. It is a great time of year to see this beautiful canyon with everything green and blooming.
The warm afternoons are great for swimming and relaxing in the pool. Families that enjoy swimming and lounging around the pool will love this time of year. The beautiful pool area at Grand Plateau Lodge is amazing for swimming and relaxing. Next to the lodge and pool area is a volleyball area and pickleball court. Families that enjoy playing sports will love to spend days at Grand Plateau Lodge swimming, playing volleyball, and having pickleball tournaments.
Surrounding Kanab is some of the best areas in Utah for families with children to play in nature. North of Kanab is the Coral Pink Sand Dunes that is a wonderful place for families to play on the large sand dunes. Children love to run up and down the sand dunes. South of Kanab just off of the highway is Toadstools. This area of geological formations is great for families to spend a day hiking, taking pictures, and exploring these amazing formations. There are also many canyons surrounding Kanab for families to hike and explore. Buckskin Gulch and Paria Canyon are just south of Kanab and are some of the most beautiful slot canyons in the world. Spring is a great time of year to explore these magnificent areas around Kanab.
