Just north of Kanab is Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. This great state park is an amazing place for families to spend a day playing in the sand, sand boarding, and exploring the sand dunes on foot or ATV. This is an amazing place to take your side by sides and ATVs and ride the sand dunes. It is also a fun place to take small children and just play in the sand for a few hours.
A little further north of Kanab you will find Bryce Canyon National Park. This amazing national park has some of the best red rock formations and pinnacles in the world. It has some amazing viewpoints and short hikes that are perfect for family groups to enjoy the world-famous red rock formations and views. In the winter months the snow and red rock are an amazing combination.
Just south of Kanab there are some amazing areas to explore. Toadstools is a great little area for groups with small children to play and explore the amazing formations. Buckskin Gulch is one of the most amazing narrows canyons in the world. This breathtaking canyon can be hiked as an out and back for a few hours or you can spend multiple days hiking the entire gorgeous canyon on your Kanab vacation. White Pocket in the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument is also an amazing area to explore with some of the most unique sandstone and limestone striations in the world.
