Kanab, Utah is surrounded by national parks and national monuments and is one of the greatest recreation towns in the southwestern United States. It is an amazing outdoor recreation area any time of the year, but the winter is one of our favorite seasons to visit Kanab. In this blog we will share some of the great things about visiting and winter recreation at Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park around Kanab.

Bryce Canyon National Park, just north of Kanab, is gorgeous in the winter months. The red rock pinnacles with a dusting of snow on them makes for the perfect views and photo opportunities. It is the perfect time of year to visit this beautiful national park and get spectacular scenery and photos of the red rock spires with snow. The contrast between the red rock and the white snow produces beautiful contrasts and spectacular photographs.

At both Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park during the winter months the crowds are small and the parks are quiet. The small crowds and the snow on the ground creates peace and quiet in both Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park that are rare in these popular national parks. During the winter the peace and quiet provides the opportunity to see wildlife and get pictures of wildlife in these beautiful national parks that are not around during busier times of year. This time of year also gives the opportunity for visitors to get photographs of beautiful scenery in both Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park without other visitors in your photographs.

Families that visit Kanab in the winter will also enjoy visiting Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and Grand Staircase National Monument just south of Kanab. These beautiful parks and national monuments are beautiful in the winter and great for families to enjoy time together exploring and seeing some of the most spectacular areas in southern Utah.

We hope to see your family this winter in Kanab for some amazing winter recreation at Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park!
