The fall weather has arrived at Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort. The nights are cool and the afternoons are warm. It is a great time of year to be in southern Utah and exploring the beautiful natural landscapes and areas around Kanab. Families love to spend time hiking, biking, riding ATVs and exploring around Kanab this time of year. In this blog we will share some of our favorite fall recreation areas and national parks in southern Utah while staying at Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort.

Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park are both just north of Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort about 45 minutes to 1 hour. These are spectacular national parks any time of the year, but fall is an especially great time to visit these amazing national parks. The fall season is less busy than the summer season and the weather is much more mild. The afternoons are great for hiking and exploring with your family.

The north rim of Grand Canyon National Park is just an hour south of Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort. Fall is also a great time of year to visit this spectacular national park. During the summer months this area can be very busy and it gets enough snow in the winter that it closes for the winter. Fall is a great season to spend time hiking and exploring in this area while the crowds are smaller and the weather is mild.

Families also love exploring some of the lesser known parks and national monuments in southern Utah. Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is just north of Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort about 15 to 20 minutes. Grand Staircase National Monument is east and northeast of Kanab and is a massive area of red rock canyons and formations that are amazing for families to explore with ATVs and OHVs or by hiking. Fall truly is a magical time of year in southern Utah and at the national parks in southern Utah.

We hope to see you in Kanab this fall at Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort!
