Kanab Winter Family Vacation

By February 1, 2021No Comments

Winter in Kanab is a beautiful time of year. The white snow on the red sandstone creates some gorgeous scenery and the number of people around is much less than the summertime. The fewer number of people creates quiet and peaceful national and state parks where you often feel like you have the place just for your family. The quiet parks along with a private lodge creates the ultimate family vacation experience.

We often have guests of Grand Plateau Lodge tell us at the conclusion of their stay that it was so wonderful to have their family all together in one location to relax and play in privacy and to have the place to themselves. They also comment in the winter how the trails and hikes were so quiet and peaceful, and the scenery was so beautiful.

Kanab family vacations are getting more popular. The massive number of national and state parks, along with the amazing slot canyons and sand dunes makes the Kanab area one of the ultimate outdoor playgrounds in Utah. Winter family vacations in Kanab are not quite as popular yet, since the area is not quite as well known as Saint George.  The area is gaining popularity and many people are discovering the beauty and fun to be found in the Kanab area.  The winter in Kanab is still largely undiscovered and those families that want to have the Kanab area largely to themselves should consider coming in the winter.

The Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Buckskin Gulch, and Paria Canyon are just a handful of the amazing parks and canyons to explore near Kanab. The list of places to explore in the Kanab area is endless and doing some research and spending time in the area exploring pays off with hidden gems. Enjoy some time in the winter in Kanab with your family!
