Kanab has wonderful weather this time of year. The mornings and evenings are cool, and the afternoons are warm. Many of the families in Utah head down to Kanab and Saint George for spring break and to just get away for the weekend.

The beautiful weather combined with the endless outdoor recreation around Kanab is the perfect recipe for a spring family vacation. The Kanab area has great opportunities for any outdoor activity your family like to do. Many families come to Kanab in the spring to hike. The Vermillion Cliffs, Buckskin Gulch, Toadstools, and Coyote Buttes offer endless hiking opportunities for families to enjoy. There are many other lesser-known hikes around Kanab that are available for families to discover if they do a little research or inquire at Grand Plateau RV Resort. Families that enjoy visiting national parks have the opportunity to visit several while staying in Kanab. Grand Canyon National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park are all a short drive from Kanab and are all quite easy to access for families who want to see the spectacular scenery and rock formations these parks have to offer.

Those families that enjoy ATV and jeep riding have easy access to Pink Sand Dunes State Park and other sand dunes around Kanab. There are also many less popular jeep and ATV trails that our staff can show you how to get to. Families that want to relax in the pool and hot tub and enjoy the privacy and luxury of Grand Plateau Lodge can spend their time just relaxing and soaking up the southern Utah sun.
